Open Call for Artists – “Back in Black”
The Stage Gallery invites artists to apply for the group exhibition “Back in Black.”
We are looking for works that explore the aesthetics, symbolism, and emotional power of the color black. “Back in Black” understands black as a space for contrast, elegance, silence, rebellion, depth, and transformation.
We welcome artworks that approach darkness not simply as the absence of light, but as an expression of atmosphere, identity, strength, mystery, or reduction. Whether minimalist or opulent, subtle or radical, abstract or figurative — we are excited to present diverse artistic perspectives.
All media and artistic approaches are welcome, including:
- Photography
- Painting
- Drawing
- Illustration
- Collage
- Objects & Sculpture
- Mixed Media

Opening: Wednesday, August 12th, 2026
Exhibition duration: until August 16th, 2026
Participation is on a first come, first served basis.
Registration deadline: as long as space is available!
- Exhibition duration: 5 days
- Open: Wednesday to Friday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (no consultations or sales on Sundays)
- Format: W max. 50 cm or L max. 80 cm (the longest side, including any framing + 5 cm)
- Participation fee: €99 (including 19% VAT) for up to 2 artworks in size M or 1 artwork in size L
- Sculptures and objects on request
- In case of sale we charge a commission of 15% of the sales price.
- Registration/application by email is binding – participation is required after successful selection.
