“BLACK on stage 2025“ at The Stage Gallery

The Stage Gallery invites artists to take part in a unique exhibition that explores the fascinating and often eerie power of the (non-)colour black.
The theme of ‘black’ is understood as a symbol of darkness, mystery and menace, and we are looking for works that explore the dark and mysterious aspects of this ‘colour’ and its emotions.
The artworks submitted must deal with the ‘colour’ black and its associations with gloom, threat, secrets or the uncanny. The scope for interpretation is broad, but the feeling of tension and darkness should be at the forefront.
All art forms are welcome, including painting, photography, sculpture, installations, digital art and mixed media. Artworks that play with light and shadow are particularly welcome.
The call is open to all professional and emerging artists who explore the uncanny and mysterious in their art.
In order to present our visitors with as much variety as possible, only one artwork per artist is permitted – ‘salon hanging’. Sold artworks can be replaced with new ones during the exhibition.
The Stage Gallery is looking forward to creative and profound contributions to this exciting theme and invites you to explore the power of the ‘colour’ black in all its dark, threatening and mysterious facets.

Participation is on a first come, first served basis.

- Open: Wed. – Fri. 2 – 6 p.m., Sat. 1 – 4 p.m.
- Per participant:in: 1 artwork S (incl. framing the longest side max. 40cm) or 1 artwork M (incl. framing the longest side max. 70cm) or 1 artwork L (incl. framing the longest side max. 100cm) or 1 artwork L+ (incl. framing the longest side max. 120cm)
- Sold artworks can be replaced with new ones (same size or smaller) during the exhibition.
- Participation fee: 109 € (S), 149 € (M), 189 € (L) resp. 219 € (L+) (each incl. 19% VAT)
- Sculptures and objects on request
- The costs for flyers/posters and public relations are included in the participation fee.
- In case of sale we charge a commission of 30% of the sales price.
